Who are we? The Stone Turret is a bed and breakfast in a 1905 Christian Science church in the historic city of Gardiner, Maine. Featuring the original architectural finishes, the rooms have been designed to highlight the historic value of the property while offering modern conveniences. Conceived as an overall lodging experience, Guests learn about the history of the building, the history of Christian Scientists, and the history of Gardiner, all while inhabiting the building itself.
Breakfast Breakfast is served from 8:00 to 9:30 and includes fresh-ground coffee, homemade muffins, juice, fruit, bacon, and an entrée of the day: either eggs, or waffles, or pancakes.
Common Areas The church entry foyer and round room under the tower show off the original glory of the church and are available for all guests as a museum and breakfast room respectively. The museum displays history while the breakfast room lends the special ambiance of curved, pressed tin and stained glass of the tower base.
Innkeeper Shawn Dolley, Innkeeper and Architect, designed the renovation of The Stone Turret. Born in Maine, Shawn lived overseas in Hawaii and Hong Kong from 2005 to 2012, specializing in hotel design for large projects.
